KATHMANDU: Glitz, shimmer, glitter and a rainbow of colours — the last day of The Himalayan Times TGIF Nepal Fashion Week '09 started on a bright, shiny note. The evening of September 11, which concluded the five-day fashion extravaganza, presented more of ethnic and traditional collections from various boutiques. Saris came in a variety of avatars on this day: intricate embroidery and eye-catching cut work, the saris on the ramp had different dimensions with oval pallu and quilts at the end. Designers also flaunted readymade saris with heavy embroideries emphasising on the svelte curves of a woman's body. Who knew that your granny saris could be transformed into such beautiful dresses and skirts?
